Sucedió un domingo que estábamos serrando madera en un castañéu de la nuexa aldina, seria como a las cinco de la tarde, y nosotros queríamos marchar para ir a cortejar a un pueblo de Quiros donde Muel y yo teníamos mozuca el caso fue que él nos dijo que nos dejaría marchar cuando entalleráramos una rolla que tenía un metro de batalla (grueso) en el serradero. Conformes nosotros entre los tres trabajamos en duro con palancas y tirones de arreventamiento, hasta que al fin conseguimos poner aquella enorme rolla de castaño de más de mil kilos de peso encima del aserradero lista para serrarla. Entonces él nos dijo que para cortejar no se necesitaba mucho tiempo si se sabía aprovechar, y que como todavía era céu, que íbamos a serrar un poco por la rolla, que era un trabajo que teníamos adelantado para mañana. Así pues que sin urniar pallabra (decir palabra) dimos comienzo a serrar por aquella rolla, él encima de ella y nosotros abajo y mientras que él desde arriba nos dominaba avasalladoramente y quizás riéndose para sus adentros, nosotros desde abajo muy silenciosamente a la par que trabajábamos en el durísimo trabajo de tirar por la sierra estábamos madurando la forma de deshacernos de él para poder marcharnos, porque por el sol, ya que reloj no teníamos, nos parecía que ya era. bastante tarde. Así pues, los tres estabamos unidos a la sierra, Muel y yo cogidos a la manilla de abajo y Nelín encima de la rolla asido a la manilla de arriba, cuando de golpe nosotros llancamus (plantamos) la sierra a enxecu (clavamos y ferramos de repente) a la par que tirábamos por ella con gran rapidez hacia detrás, con este movimiento rápido e inesperado, cogimos desprevenido a Nelín, que no le dio tiempo a esquivar el golpe que le venía encima, y la manilla de arriba a la cual él estaba asido no con mucha fuerza, le vino con duro golpe a machacar su frente y medio aturdido se desplomo desde lo alto de la rolla hasta el suelo del aserradero, y bien por casualidad o porque su gran agilidad lo buscara, cayo encima de su hijo Muel, al que asiendo con una mano con fuerza, con la otra de apoderó del moqueteiru (instrumento de madera para asegurar la cuña de la manilla inferior de la sierra, de casi un kilo de peso y unos treinta centímetros de largo) y con grande saña y fuerza comenzó a darle palos, y yo que sabía que pronto iba a recibir los mismos, xebreme fuyendu en aburiéxa galamiada del lleu d'echus (me marche huyendo a las carreras del lado de ellos), pero no llevaría andados unos metros cuando sentí en una pierna un golpetazo fuerte que no me privo de seguir corriendo pero cojeando lleno de dolor y con menos fuerza, ya que vi a Muel traspasarme como alma que lleva el diablo y sangrando por la cabeza. El caso fuera, que Nelín al ver como yo se le escapaba me lanzo el condenado moqueteiru con tal acierto y fuerza que me dejó algo cojo durante alguno días.
